RBS Certification
Prior to taking this course, you must register as an Alcohol Server with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to get your Server IDr. You can Click Here to Register. Once there, click Register
- Within the portal, submit an application and pay the $3.00 application fee. Then write down your ID number found in the Server Certificate Details section on the left.
- Search for online providers and click on the TAP Series link to purchase the course.
- Within 1-2 days after course completion, you’ll receive an email notification from the CA RBS saying you may begin your exam. The state administered exam must be completed within 30 days of the date you completed the TAP training.
After you register and complete your application, you will be given an RBS Server ID Number. You will enter this number when registering for the TAP course.
After you have completed the TAP training, TAP uploads your course information to the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. After you receive a notification from TAP that your course information has been updated, you will log back into your account at https://abcbiz.abc.ca.gov/ to take your exam. You will then need to pass an online ABC administered RBS exam within 60 calendar days from the first date of employment.
Note: Per the California ABC, you will only have 30 days from your course completion date to take the exam or you will need to order a new course and re-take the training.
