Assembly Bill 203-a protection against Valley Fever

 Valley Fever cases continue to rise in California, and as a result a recent law was passed in the hopes to protect construction workers.   Assembly Bill 203, which because a law in October 2019, requires construction employers in certain counties to provide prevention training and Valley Fever awareness classes.

Training should contain:

·       Risk factors

·       How to recognize symptoms

·       Methods of prevention

·       Importance of reporting symptoms to an employer and seeking medical attention right away

Any employers working in Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Merced, Monterey, San Joaquin, Sal Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Tulare and Ventura counties are required to complete training by May 1, 2020.  Below is a guide that can help meet this new training requirement.
