Christopher’s Dodge Ram, a company known as Chris the Crazy Trader, Inc located in Golden, Colorado was accused of both sexual and racial harassment.   Female and male employees were subjected to a sexually hostile work environment when employees and managers touched female employees inappropriately and called them by obscene epithets.  One female employee was fired after she reported that a manager, whom she had caught watching pornography while at work, cornered her in a room and made inappropriate sexual comments.

It was also reported that a manager made frequent sexually inappropriate comments to female employees, even offering money in exchange for sexual acts.   This same manager placed his clothed genitals against the chair of a female employee on a biweekly basis and against the buttocks of a male employee.

Employees were subjected to a racially hostile work environment for both Black/African and Latin/Hispanic employees.  The manager made frequent comments about Black/African employee’s skin color and supposed physical characteristics.  Other employees also made derogatory and racially offensive comments that included words such as “beaners” and the N-word.   It is stated by the EEOC that Christopher’s Dodge Ram knew about the harassment but did not act and actually allowed it to get worse.

This conduct violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  This act prohibits racial and sexual harassment in employment and retaliation.   The suit is filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado by the EEOC. (EEOC v. Chris the Crazy Trader, Inc., Case No. 1:21-cv-02666). The EEOC Phoenix District Office has jurisdiction for Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and part of New Mexico.
