Lodging Lane Hospitality sued by EEOC for Sexual Harassment and Retaliation

One by NP, that owns Lodging Lane Hospitality, currently
doing business under Home2Suites, violated federal civil rights laws. One female housekeeper was subject to a
mangers ongoing sexual harassment. She
complained that he made inappropriate comments about her intimate body parts,
requested sex, and physically touched her on an intimate body part while making
comments about wanting to have sex with her.
When the housekeeper made the complaints, to the general manager, they
were ignored, and she was fired shortly after.
Sexual harassment and retaliation violates Title VII of the
Civil Rights Act of 1964. This act
prohibits discrimination based on sex and protects workers from sexual
harassment and retaliation. The EEOC
filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi,
Oxford Division (EEOC v. One by NP d/b/a Home2Suites and Lodging Lane
Hospitality LLC, Case No. 3:21-cv-00210) after first attempting to reach a
pre-litigation settlement through its conciliation process. The
suit is seeking injunctive relief to prevent future harassment.
