Mass Shooting Reach 486 in Just The First Eight Months of 2023

In 2023, the United States has experienced over 486 mass shootings, making it likely to have a record-breaking year for gun violence. The current pace suggests that 2023 will exceed the mass shootings in 2019 through 2022. The number did drop substantially in 2020 during home confinement due to Covid.This trend contrasts with 2019 when it took almost a year to reach 400 mass shootings. However, in both 2023 and 2021, this number was reached in just seven months.
