Tap Series’ Valley Fever Training: What is covered and how to include training with employee onboarding

The TAPS’s Valley Fever course educates workers on the symptoms and definition of Valley Fever.  It explains that these symptoms are similar to other common illnesses and what may seem like a common cold or flu, could actually be something worse.

Some topics that will be covered in the course include:

·       Respirators- when to use, how to use and when it is safe to take them off.

·       How to clean tools, equipment and vehicles properly before leaving the job site.

·       What measures to take to reduce the amount of soil that becomes airborne such as using water and other dust control measures.

It is impossible for agriculture and construction workers to avoid airborne dust particles, but it is possible to reduce exposure and protect against them.  It is important to be able to identify potential symptoms and act right away when anyone reports them.
