What is the Alcohol Refund Policy in the State of Michigan?

According to Gold A Graphic Administrative Rule 436.1531 in Michigan, off-premises licensees can only accept returns of alcoholic liquor products if the product is demonstrably spoiled, contaminated, or the container is damaged to the extent that the contents would be unsanitary or unfit for consumption. 

In such cases, the off-premises licensee may offer the customer a cash refund or exchange. 

However, the returned product must not be resold and should be removed from the licensed premises as soon as possible, but within 14 days of its return. 

Other than these circumstances, retailers are not allowed to accept returns of alcohol for exchange or refund.
